Art Show September 2011

Wow, a year later... I've been hiding from my own creative self for far too long now.

For those of you that remember, I had an art Show in September 2011 but did not upload any photographs.  Well better late than never?

Glass Tiles

Making necklaces with scrabble tiles was fun but now I'm playing with glass tiles.  They are sleek! :)
Besides my artwork, I'm including phrases.
My first batch...

Meditation... something I need to do more.
There is always the struggle that I need to do this or that, fit more time in for the things that are meaningful to me.
I don't always use my opportunities wisely...
but I did manage to sketch out my desires:

Happy Beltane!

Beltane:  Celebrating the Fertility of Spring

April's showers have given way to rich and fertile earth, and as the land greens, there are few celebrations as representative of fertility as Beltane. Observed on May 1st, festivities typically begin the evening before, on the last night of April. It's a time to welcome the abundance of the fertile earth, and a day that has a long (and sometimes scandalous) history.

Happy Earth Day & Wake Up The Earth Festival 2012

Happy Earth Day!!!!

(and ♪ happy birthday ♫ to me! ♥)

I will be with my art goodies at the Wake Up The Earth Festival being held in Jamaica Plain, MA on May 5 (rain date May 6).  This festival has been held for over 30 years (though this is my first time attending). Let your inner hippie come out and come be crunchy granola with me!  I'd love to see you!

In the spirit of celebrating Mother Earth:

Thief of Sleep - Rumi

Thief of Sleep (work in progress)

Inspired by:

When the sweet glance of my true love caught my eyes,
Like alchemy, it transformed my copper-like soul.
I searched for Him with a thousand hands,
He stretched out His arms and clutched my feet.

From Thief of Sleep

Tears of a Clown (sketch)

Something a bit different from my normal style...

Tears of a Clown
(lyrics by Smokey Robinson)

Just like Pagliacci did
I try to keep my surface hid
Smiling in the public eye
But in my lonely room I cry
The tears of a clown
When there's no one around, oh yeah, baby baby
Now if there's a smile on my face
Don't let my glad expression
Give you the wrong impression
Don't let this smile I wear
Make you think that I don't care
When really I'm sad…I’m hurting so bad.
Tears of a Clown...
